On the occasion of applying for European Capital of Culture the City of Kassel commissioned ART+COM with a mobile media installation. As Kassel is also host of the documenta contemporary art exhibition, it was decided to feature documenta’s historic development in the installation.

First analog sketches for the user interface
The exhibition is set in a 11-meter commercial truck which was remodelled to make way for a table which spans the entire length. Data projectors are used to show a continuous ribbon of documenta-related facts.
Digital sketches from the design process
The ribbon is structured by contemporary documenta posters hung chronological order. The exhibition toured several German cities in 2005 and is now shown in Kassel.
Design for UI elements
Visitors may interact with the ribbon by touching the surface (ART+COM in-house approximation sensors) and retrieving info e.g. artist biographies and hisorical context. My part: Interaction concept, graphical developement (user interface), production.
